Drum

By Natalie L.

At first, I found a round metal box, took the lid off and started putting different kinds of paper and materials at the top of the box, like as membrane, in order to find out which made the best sound.

Aluminum foil together with greaseproof paper sounded better so I put a piece of greaseproof paper over a piece of aluminum foil at the top of the opening of the box and stuck them finally with tape.

Both materials should be very well stretched over the opening and firmly stuck on the metal box; otherwise no sound would come out of the instrument.

The sound is produced if you rub or strike the surface of the drum.
