Tree Drum
By Dalton, 7th grade

I used drum sticks that I carved from a branch to hit the head of the drum.

I cut a limb off a fir tree. My Dad and I took it to the shop and drilled out the center about five inches deep. Then we cut the limb to 10 inches. Then I took it in the house stretched leather over the top and put horse reins around the top, middle and center. We used nails to fasten them to the log. It took four days to make it.
