The One Man Recycling Band

The “One Man Recycling Band” is the name of my instrument. The future of instruments will depend on recycled materials.

My instrument belongs to the percussion family of the orchestra.

My instrument is made of recycled wood, plastic and metal containers. I have also used stickers, tape and paint. Nearly all of the materials have been recycled.

Drumming the containers produces the sound. When I drum on the containers a vibration is made and sound comes from those vibrations.

The material used and the size of the container determines the pitch. The largest metal container has the highest pitch. The lowest pitch is the smaller plastic container. Higher pitch is due to faster vibrations. Lower pitch is heard when the vibrations are slow.

Each container has its own sound.
