The Neon Tambourine

By: Emily

My instrument is called the neon tambourine. My mom helped me make it. Me and my mom went to Jo Anne fabrics and got wood, paint, hooks, bells, string and a wooden peace sign.

First I painted the wood. Then after it dried my mom put the hooks in it for me. Next I put the string through the bells and my mom helped put the bells on the hooks. Then I put wood glue on the peace sign and attached to the tambourine. Finally I was finished!

To make it have loud dynamics I hit it against my leg repeatedly. For soft dynamics I tap the tambourine gently with my hand. The tambourine has a high pitch. The timbre of my instrument is ringy and clinky.
